AHEAD

AHEAD is an Irish non-profit organisation committed to promoting full access to education and employment for students and graduates with disabilities. Our mission is to create inclusive environments in higher education and the workplace. We achieve this by providing support, resources, and advocacy to ensure individuals with disabilities have the opportunities and accommodations they need to succeed.

AHEAD’s Willing Able Mentoring (WAM) programme is a work placement programme which aims to promote access to the roles for graduates with disabilities and offers mentored, paid work placements with high profile Irish employers. Since 2005, the WAM Programme has provided over 700 graduates with disabilities paid employment with a wide range of employers in many different areas.

The GetAHEAD Programme is another initiative of AHEAD that focuses on the transition from education into employment for graduates with disabilities. The programme aims to up-skill graduates with disabilities by providing training events and valuable information covering a wide range of topics and resources including interview preparation, disclosure, CV writing and soft skill development.

Aldi

Aldi – a Story of Success

With roots dating back to 1913, Aldi (short for Albrecht Discount) entered the Irish market in 1999. Aldi continues to be one of the world’s most successful retailers. We have a vast network of over 160 stores across the country and ambitious plans to open many more. There are currently more than 6,500 stores across our international portfolio including stores in Ireland, the UK, Europe, Australia, China and the USA.

Importantly, Aldi is about more than just retail. We work tirelessly to make changes to be better every day for society and the environment through our CR programme which is based on three core pillars of greener, fairer and healthier. We are proud of the work we do through partnerships with Barnardos, the Irish Cancer Society, Food Cloud and Aware. This allows us and the amazing people who work at Aldi to make a real difference to the local communities that support us every day.

Roffey Park Institute

Roffey Park is a globally recognised institution focused on leadership development and organisational learning. They offer tailored leadership programs, consultancy services, and research designed to help both individuals and organisations thrive. Roffey Park’s solutions aim to enhance leadership, management, and organisational culture through experiential learning and practical, sustainable strategies.

One of their key offerings is the Graduate Development Programme, designed to bridge the gap between academic knowledge and practical workplace skills. The program begins with a Skills Assessment Centre, where each graduate’s strengths and areas for development are evaluated. Personalised learning paths are then created to cater to individual needs and learning styles, aligning with the preferences of Gen Z, who value customised learning experiences.

The Skills Development Essentials section of the programme focuses on critical competencies such as communication, decision-making, and resilience. Graduates are encouraged to adopt a mindset of continuous learning, critical thinking, and adaptability. Future-focused skills, including AI and sustainable leadership, are also introduced.

Graduates apply their learning to real-world challenges through Business Projects, addressing key organisational issues such as community engagement and corporate social responsibility. Regular assessments and one-on-one coaching ensure that graduates receive valuable feedback. Mentorship from experienced professionals further supports their growth. Ultimately, this programme boosts confidence, develops leadership skills, and prepares graduates for future roles within their organizations.
